My Parazul Diaper Bag and a Handbag Giveaway

I know it sounds vain but a cute diaper bag was one thing I wanted to splurge on. Everyone told me not to because it's just going to get popped, peed, milk, and all sorts of crap on it... And I get it. I really do. But to me a diaper bag is kind of like a mother's right to feel like a classy woman... Amongst all of the crap (literally).

The problem is my husband doesn't always agree with my reasoning, he's more of a "practical" kind of guy aka B.O.R.I.N.G. So I tried to find a compromise. I won a $150 gift card from Pottery Barn Kids. I found an ADORABLE diaper bag for about $120. The only problem... It was white. The brown one was about $180. So... Do I splurge on the extra $30? Why not?

I didn't want to jump at the opportunity quite yet because there were so many other things at that store I could use my gift card for. I decided to wait it out... And good thing I did!

Parazul
contacted me about their beautiful designer purses. Oh how I've dreamed of one day owning a designer purse... I didn't even care it was bought it in the way back of one of those stores in New York... Whatever! So Parazul was another designer label I had to add to my wish list.

Originally I was going to do a giveaway of one of their Classic Bag purses but when I opened the box of my review item and saw what was inside I gasped! Oh, it was one of their bags alright... Their gorgeous pink scarf bag actually. But what did this giant bag translate to for me? That's right... DIAPER BAG!What I love: It's versatile as in it can be used as an all day bag, a briefcase or... My favorite: Stylish diaper bag.

I decided to model it for you so you could get the full effect. The silk scarf I thought was a nice touch. My husband said it'll be great if Spawnie isn't a boy but I corrected him... Boy or girl this pink bag is still going to work! The main large portion of the bag is made with modern canvas so it's easy to wipe off and clean, and the inside is lined with a beautiful bright blue. Lots of room for diapers, bottles, and whatever else I decide to put in there... Toys, food, a small child, it'll all fit! Now, my personal downside: While it's beautiful, apparently durable, and easy to clean, it is a lot of money for something that will probably get poop on it. I worry I'm going to be very protective of it and most likely get a cheaper diaper bag as a back up and use the nice one for special occasions.
While this bag retails for $350 it's a HUGE step up from the bag I was looking at from PBK, and getting another designer tote from someplace like Louis Vuitton is going to cost you about $1000 and up! So if you're into designer bags for a better price, check Parazul: An exciting new line of handbags and accessories out!

Now you didn't think I was going to leave you hanging right? I can't just brag about my new fancy diaper bag and not offer something for you!

You can BUY Parazul: They're giving my readers a 30% discount from their ENTIRE site! And they have products from designer handbags, to scarfs, wallets, clutches and charms. Use code: PARAZULPERK005.And/or Win one! *muah*: A Parazul Classic Bag. Retail: $250.

The lovely Parazul Classic Bag is named for its classic shape that will never be out of fashion. It's just the right size to carry everything you need in simple, yet elegant, style. You'll find the Classic Bag complements all of the outfits in your wardrobe.

The Beige Classic Bag comes with the 100% silk Beige/black logo slim scarf as well as the Parazul logo charm (as shown). Be sure to view the complete collection of scarves and charms, as these items are the key to changing the look of your Parazul bag in a flash!

The handbag's body material is a modern coated canvas, making it durable and easy to care for. The natural-color leather trim provides a classic look. The interior signature blue lining is sure to bring a smile to your face whenever you open your bag!

Staying Organized While Pregnant: Prego Planner LIVE Giveaway!

I'm a sucker for anything pregnancy related right now. Yes, I'm a marketer's dream! Pregnancy pillows, belly bands, I'm looking for it all! I'm also in love with everything baby right now though I just can't wait to try it on Spawnie.

Most times it hasn't really sunk in that I'm REALLY having a baby. I still can't wrap my head around the concept. I sorta feel like I'm playing house and we're just pretending. I'm usually most eager for my next doctor's appointment, but I feel bad cause when that day finally arrives I'm usually forgetting my questions.

I love keeping a record of things and I LOVE to write things down. Hence my blog... But I also have a baby journal, a regular journal, and a little notebook I keep in my purse to jot down thoughts throughout the day.

Putting my need to stay organized, write things down, and my love for pregnancy products all into one. Heather Patterson told me about the Prego Planner, your ultimate pregnancy organizer and offered to send me one and I literally squealed when I got it. See... There's this thing called Prego Brain... I didn't believe it when people first told me about it but now I have a TESTIMONY of it! This will help save you from it's wrath!
There's so much in this planner! A place for info about your OB or Midwife, a place for your updates at each checkup with spots for every measurement they take! Lists for a new baby!.. Oh it's so fun. Here's most of the features:
  • 12-month undated calendar
  • Pages to hold critical information such as OBGYN/Midwife contact information, hospital information, insurance information, pharmacy information, test results, questions for the physician and a chart to assist in keeping track of monthly progress
  • Interview questions for potential pediatricians
  • The ultimate nursery checklist to assist with registering for baby showers and keeping track of what items have been fulfilled and what hasn’t
  • An essential "acts of kindness" and gift log
  • A unique checklist of things to do before baby arrives
  • An area for the birth plan
  • A hospital packing list for Mom, Dad and Baby
  • Family and friends call list
  • Post delivery checklist
  • Space for postpartum visit questions
  • A handy pocket for paperwork
  • Coated and sturdy tabs that make the desired pages readily available
  • Easily interchangeable pages... and much more
I've already filled out my calendar and have Spawnie's due date marked along with my weekly milestones.
I love that pages can easily be removed if you don't need it, or rearranged easily because it's put together in a three ring binder. It easily fits in my purse and you'd better believe it's at every doctor's visit with me!

A lot of you I know will love that there's also a place for my birth plan! Can't wait to fill those pages out (there's several)! And like I mentioned before, there's several checklists for your newborn as well as for your hospital bag.
Being a first time mom I think it has really been so helpful in having a place for everything I may want to ask, or want to make note of. And it keeps me incredibly organized. I said I like to write things down but I didn't say I was organized... This keeps me that way!

So far this has been one of my FAVORITE pregnancy items (along with Bellybars and potatoes) and I think it's one of those things any newly preggo should add to their list of "must haves."

If you're not into the Chocolate style kind that I have, there's also Zebra, and Dressy.

Another great feature... It's not expensive. The Prego Planner is only $24.

Want one? You can BUY a Prego Planner by visiting PregoPlanner.com.

You can also try to WIN a PregoPlanner of your choice here!

All you have to do is:

Lamaze Mom To Be Gift Set

On my MomTV show earlier this week I talked about my Top 10 Pregnancy Must-Haves! I'm still working on a post-version for my blog, hopefully I'll get it up this week. But one of the things I think every pregnant woman asks and/or thinks about is stretch mark cream!

I've been told using things like coco butter and shea butter help prevent stretch marks, but water intake does too!

I'm very very prone to stretch marks... In fact I think it's almost a lost cause for me, and I expect to get them on my belly. I grew quickly when I was younger and have them on my knees, I have them on my thighs, even my booty... So why should by tummy be lucky?

Now, when I was looking into birthing classes and techniques of course Lamaze was one of the first ones to come up and come to mind... But who knew they also made toys, and mom to be products? I didn't!
The Lamaze organization is dedicated to supporting and promoting healthy birth practices for women. I've loved looking at their site and watching their labor videos, and reading about their healthy birth practices. I have a long way to go before labor, but I'm sure I'll be learning, and sharing, a lot more about them!

They sent me the Mom to Be Gift Set, and it was one of the first "pregnancy" things I got! I've loved using the lotions and belly creams and I have to honestly say... They smell soooo good! I have another shea butter product from another company and the Lamaze one smells so much better! It's such a fun way to pamper myself!

Here's a little more info about what's in it:
A perfect gift for expecting moms, the Mom-to-Be Gift Set contains 2oz. containers of the following hypoallergenic Lamaze Body Care items: Lamaze Belly Butter - exceptional for keeping the skin elastic and stretchy during pregnancy, as well as soothing itchy bellies. Key ingredients include organic and natural cocoa butter, and shea butter.

Lamaze Belly Cream - contains a variety of healing and emulsifying ingredients clinically proven to help minimize the appearance of stretch marks and scarring.

Lamaze Moisturizing Body Cream - a luscious alternative to regular lotion with a thick, creamy feel that leaves skin incredibly moist yet won't leave the skin greasy

Lamaze Cooling Leg and Foot Cream - provides a revitalizing foot and leg massage, cooling and moisturizing with thick, penetrating cream.

Lamaze Sitz Bath Powder - this healing bath powder will foam to a wonderful lather while helping soothe and heal your body after pregnancy.

So... I'm prone to stretch marks but I'm trying to use this religiously, and hoping maybe if I work hard to prevent these I can have one part of my body scar-free!

Like the gift set? You can BUY it for $25 (actually it's on sale right now for $19.99) from Learning Curve. It's a great baby shower gift!

Be Nice Prenatal Giveaway

Did you miss my show today? If so, shame shame!! We talked about the importance of drinking LOTS of water while pregnant, and the importance of getting your vitamins.

I've had a few fainting spells myself cause I've been dehydrated and it's been pretty scary. Water can be a little bland but Be Nice Prenatal drink mix is a yummy way to get your water AND your prenatal vitamins.

It's an ALL NATURAL drink mix.
"Each packet of Be Nice contains 25% of the doctor recommended supply of folic acid, vitamins, and minerals, along with DHA. When you take the packets throughout the day, your body can better retain and utilize nutrients, while you and your baby stay hydrated. Be Nice uses life'sDHA, a plant-based DHA that is free from ocean-borne contaminants, mercury and hexane. Be Nice contains all the best for you and your baby."
Cynthia was a guest on my show and once I figure out how to get the replay up I'll post it. I basically shared why I drink it. I've been drinking it since before we were trying to get pregnant to help stock up on my vitamins! So this is great for people who are TTC or soon to be TTC as well as for women who are breastfeeding, and of course, women who are pregnant.

Want to try it? You can request a free sample here. Or order it here on sale for $12.99.

OR you can also WIN some a few different ways! Cynthia gave away a BIG prize during my show and two box prizes. There's still 3 more ways you can win.

To win a box of Be Nice Prenatal with 10 packets (you get to choose the box flavor either Berrylicious or Lemonade) be the 100th person to tweet: "Tweet to win some all natural prenatal vitamin drink mix from @beniceprenatal and @futuremama ReTweet #100 wins!!"
OR... You can win a box by clicking "Like" to my Fan page status update about Be Nice Prenatal. You have until Wednesday night 2/17 to enter that one.

Or, win a BIG prize pack including a box of each flavor, or two boxes of one flavor, PLUS a BPA-free bottle to drink it in! To enter to win that: Leave a comment on this post! That's all!

Spawnie's Gonna ROCK in RockerByeBaby

When I first started my hunt for cute baby clothing (especially when I was thinking Spawnie was a boy) and cute baby bedding, time after time people would tell me about RockerByeBaby. It's a cute store with adorable things for your baby from diaper bags to blankets to crib bedding to onesies.

When I first saw her store I immediately thought of my best friend Shannon, and her sense of style. She's totally into the punk-rocker look for her baby boy (my Godson), so I bought him a little guitar onesie. She made it especially for him see:

Cute huh? It's a little big on him still but I'm SO excited to see him in it!

Personally, I'm not too into the skulls, crossbones and guitars myself for my baby... My husband and I are more of the "hip hop" type than the rocker type, so it wasn't exactly my thing at first. But I chatted with Amber, and found out she also has a big selection of cute minky fabrics and designs. I also fell IN LOVE with a mixtape material I found and decided Spawnie had to have one. Originally I was thinking I wanted blue, because I was thinking she was a he, but Amber was sweet and changed it up to a pink backing when I found out she was a girl. Here's how it turned out:If she was a he it would have looked like this in blue:
I love love love the soft fabric used on the inside. I picked it up this morning and pretended like I was curling her up in it. I just can't wait to show it off! I may order a mixtape onesie to match too and make a tutu to go with it (that's my new obsession). I love matching pieces. Speaking of matching, check out these matching father-son hoodies!

So there you have it, Spawnie's FIRST blanket! Adorable, no?

But get this... Amber has made special blankets and bedding and clothing for celebrity babies! Ashley Simpson's baby sports RockerByeBaby... And then there's Spawnie who will ;0)

So check out her store and shop around. She's even giving all of my readers a 10% discount for her shop. Use code: "FutureMama10". You can get a cute blanket like mine for $35 - 10% = $31.50 (like my math skills?).

OR You can try to win a $40 gift certificate to her shop and get a blanket of YOUR style and choice, or even get something else from her spunky shop.

Here's how you enter:
1. Be(come) a follower of my blog
2. Visit RockerByeBaby and tell me what you'd get with your gift certificate if you won in the comments.

That's all! Want extra entries?

Something For Your Baby Makin' Stage!

Giveaway CLOSED!!

Pregnant? I got you. Trying to Conceive? I got you! Breastfeeding/ Got a new baby? I got you too! Ok... Well, don't thank me, thank Mommy Bound. It's a new online shop specializing in the needs for women in all stages of "mommyhood." From ovulation kits and Pre-Seed to pregnancy tests, to herbal teas, to nursing pads, it's a one stop shop for your whole journey!

They sent me some anti-nausea treats to try so I gobbled up some Preggie Pops and tried a sea band. There are a couple of tips I have about Preggie Pops: 1. When you feel nausea coming on, pop one in! I for awhile kept trying to save and "savor" them because I was worried I'd run out before my morning sickness got REALLY bad. In the process Snoop ate a few and I ended up eating a few others once my morning sickness was gone just as a sweet snack (hey, I'm still pregnant!) And 2. Be careful what flavors you eat when. I LOVED the raspberry but once I ate it just at the wrong time and it made me feel way worse. After that I tried to stick with the lemon/ ginger flavors (by the way I wasn't ever a ginger fan but those are yummy).

But like I said earlier, if you're not pregnant yet and don't need Preggie Pops, Mommy Bound still has lots of stuff for other women!

Here's how they got started:
"The idea for MommyBound.com came about when two employees of 513 Ventures became pregnant and started discussing products they have used or heard about. After some discussion, they both agreed that there should be a place online, that women can order everything they need, from pre-conception to nursing. Thus MommyBound.com was born.

Since each woman had a different experience on her journey to motherhood, they were able to bring together a wide variety of diverse products. MommyBound.com has items used by each woman from her journey to becoming pregnant, all the way to postpartum and nursing."
Mommy Bound was nice enough to offer a $25 gift certificate to their store for one of my readers for my Full Term of Giveaways event!

To enter:
1. Visit Mommy Bound and in the comments tell me what you'd buy with your $25 gift certificate.

That's all! Want extra entries? Comment again if you:

Aliens on Board!

NO! I'm not having two. I'm just telling you about one of my favorite pregnancy T-shirt lines. I've seen A LOT of T-shirts for pregnant bellies and I have a few myself, but I'm not a big t-shirt kind of person so I don't like a lot... Call me picky. But when I saw Spegg Wear's "Alien on Board" shirt I knew I had to get one! ...Especially since I was already calling my baby Spawnie.
Simone, owner of the shop sent me a couple of T-shirts to show off and I was so excited to wear them once my belly started to get bigger. I wore it to my 20-week ultrasound and I got so many compliments. She also sent me the Equation t-shirt which is quite cleaver and I plan to wear to my next prenatal yoga class.
Here's a little more about Spegg Wear:
There's also spunky shirts for daddy and baby. I was going to get this one for my husband but quite honestly, he'd be WAY to embarrassed to wear it in public (he's a bit shy). But hey... If you're husband's loud and proud he'd probably love it!
Want a cute Spegg Wear shirt for yourself or a friend? You can buy one for 20% off using the coupon code "funky". The shirts range in price from about $18 up! My alien on board tee is on sale for $28 right now!

OR You can win one here!!

Just leave a comment letting me know your favorite shirt from Spegg Wear!

That's all! Want extra entries? Comment again if you:

Bellybars Are Yummy--But Don't Take My Word for It

If you caught my MomTV show then you know how much I love Bellybar. And if you've read my blog for awhile you REALLY know how much I love them. I started eating them before I was trying to get pregnant because of all of the great nutrition in them. If you're trying to conceive it's a good idea to start stocking up on these vitamins before getting pregnant. For one, it takes a few months for your body to get stocked up on the nutrients like folic acid that it needs, and two, having them can HELP you conceive!

My favorite flavor is the Berry Nutty Cravings. It has a great blend of yogurt, nuts and berries. You may remember when I entered the Holly Jolly Belly Contest. I won! And I won a trimester worth of Bellybars, that's two cases of each flavor. I ate up all of the Berry Nutty ones first, now I'm alternating between the rest of them.

One thing I love about them is that they're also quick and easy to grab and go. With my job being so crazy, sometimes it's hard to get a break to eat. I'll put a few of these in my purse and snack on them throughout the day. Don't believe me? Look... I'm eating one as I write this post!

If you're pregnant, thinking of getting pregnant, or breastfeeding you definitely need to check these out!

Hate prenatal vitamins? Yea, sometimes they can by icky. Well eating a Bellybar is a lot like taking a prenatal vitamin because it has lots of folic acid, DHA, protein and iron! All things your baby really needs! Speaking of vitamins, Bellybar is coming out with a NEW prenatal vitamin next month, chewable and allegedly yummy!! I can't wait to try it! I'll for sure let you know about it when I find out more, and we'll have a giveaway here! They're ALSO coming out with a new s'more flavor!! *dies*
We gave away 3 Bellybar prize packs during the show! Bummed you missed it? You can find Bellybar's at Target, Wallgreens, Babies R Us, Whole Foods, Pea in a Pod, Motherhood Maternity, HEB and more! I'm a Spoiled Mama

First off, Happy Easter! I hope you've been enjoying your Easter Sunday, and I'm so excited to watch General Conference this week (I have it DVRd since I've been at work all weekend). It's our first Easter as "parents" and we got something special for our Baby Girl! I'll show it to you later this week :) We also are getting our ultrasound of her tomorrow to make sure everything is ok with her little face and umbilical cord which we missed in our 20 week ultrasound. Crossing my fingers she poses for us!

I really am spoiled. I've been so blessed with a great pregnancy and surrounded by so much support. I've also been able to spoil myself when it comes to enjoying some different luxurious belly creams by The Spoiled Mama. Now that my belly is about the size of a basketball (maybe bigger, I'm not sure) stretchmarks are on red alert. I haven't spotted any yet, and I'm trying to get better at using my different lotions and creams to keep them from appearing.
Yea, yea, I've heard the creams don't work and it's genetic but what could it hurt? I personally think keeping up your water intake and keeping your skin hydrated can help. So far I haven't spotted any on my belly!

I notice my skin does look different when I haven't used creams, there's a weird bump-like thing that starts to bulge above my belly button. I was worried for a moment that I had some kind of disease but I've noticed it in other belly photos so I guess it's normal! When my skin is silky smooth and hydrated though I don't notice it really at all, so I'm starting to think it's some kind of stretch mark trying to come up.

I've been lucky to find companies that use organic products to make nice creams and lotions.
The Spoiled Mama is a company that sells skincare products for women in each stage of mommyhood! I especially love that their products are so pure and natural! Here's a little info about them:
"All our products are formulated using a Superior Quality of Natural, Organic Ingredients Free from Preservatives, Synthetic Fragrances, Parabens, and Petroleum Derivatives. We only purchase organically grown ingredients here in the USA and if we are unable to find the best organics we guarantee that we support fair trade farmers and purchase only from them. We insure all testing is cruelty free and created under the strictest standards of quality and safety, making them better for Mamas and their Families."
It's cool cause there's a collection for pregnancy, breastfeeding, postpartum, and your baby. There's even one for the "Spoiled Daddy"!!

The Spoiled Mama send me their popular Bump Box, which comes with tummy butter and bump gloss. I just rub that stuff all over my tummy when I get out of the shower and my skin is left feeling silky smooth, and smelling nice the rest of the day! I'm pretty sure Spawnie likes it too. ... She wants her little cage to look nice.Want to spoil yourself? The Spoiled Mama has a nice array of products for every woman!

You can WIN a $50 GIFT CERTIFICATE to them right here! (Open to US and Canadian residence!)

What I'm Makin(g) Monday: Wall Vinyl Decal! {And Giveaway!}

I'm sucking at this meme thing already. I mentioned planning to start one this week, and here I am, finally posting it Monday afternoon...

In an effort to make myself more crafty, and also brag a little about some of my accomplishments, I thought it would be fun to make Monday my craft-related post day. It'll also hopefully be a fun way to see other crafts out there that I haven't heard of and that I'd like to maybe try (or buy) when others link up and share their skills.

Here's the idea: Share a post, a link, a photo, a tutorial, whatever of something you've made. It can be a craft, food, digital design, whatever!! Maybe later I'll get specific with some prompts but for now people can just share whatever they want. I'll also post something I've made which may or may not include a tutorial. For the first little while, everyone who participates will be entered for a giveaway, and I'll announce what the giveaway item is that week. Some may be big, and some may be small, some maybe even be nothing at all... We'll see how it goes. So if you know wannabe crafters or chefs out there, or people who already are, let them know there's another place to share!

This week will be a little different since it's short notice and it's the first week! But there's still a giveaway everyone can enter at the end.

So let's get this party started... As part 3 of my Operation Nursery Makeover, and my first ever installment of "What I'm Makin(g) Monday" I made a wall decal for Spawnie's Nursery.
Trading Phrases contacted me a couple of months ago about their beautiful wall vinyl designs. I checked out their nursery designs and found the perfect one for Spawnie's room!
It says "With a Butterfly Kiss and a Ladybug Hug, Sleep Tight Little One, Like a Bug in a Rug." I thought since her room is butterfly themed, and I call her my little bug it was PERFECT.
They were really nice and suggested I get color samples so I knew for sure it would match our room. I did as they suggested and narrowed it down to three greens and three pinks, they sent me a postcard with little stickers of the vinyl's color and I picked my two favorite.

Shortly after I got the vinyl in the mail all rolled up nicely in a tube, and was ready to get to work! But I had a dilemma... Our walls are a little lumpy, "textured" I guess is the correct term. The nice people at Trading Phrases told me it would still work, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized I didn't want to stick it directly on my wall. I remembered a project I did once for my living room and got an idea!
First, I bought some wood at Lowe's, I bought a big piece that was 4 feet long, by 2 feet wide, and got it cut down to 17in wide (the size of the vinyl). It wasn't thick... About 1/4 of an inch.
I got home and painted it with two coats of brown, and a coat of sealant. You can get sealant at any craft store, and it's not too expensive... about $5 for a bottle that should last awhile.
I made sure to get the sides and everything real good, and then I waited for it to dry.

Now it's time to get the vinyl! ... See where I'm going with this? One thing I like about Trading Phrases is they sent two pieces of "practice vinyl" with smaller phrases so I could get the hang of how to peel the papers and stuff before I did it for real... Good idea cause reading the instructions were a little confusing at first, but after I tried it a couple of times on the bottom of the my door for practice, I got the hang of it.
Now it was time to lay it out on the wood. Since mine came in two parts I took some time to mark where I wanted each piece to start and stop. Since the wood was practically the perfect size I had to make sure no words were falling off the edge.
I got it lined up and put down the first part.
Then the second part! And then covered both with another layer of sealant. I noticed there was some blank space in the bottom corner of the wood, and normally on the wall I think it would look fine, but since it was plain brown there I decided to spruce it up a little with some paper butterflies I had left over from the butterfly mobile I made. Then... TADA!!!!
What do you think? See, now the whole point of this meme thing is to get encouragement so don't let me down!

I'm really happy with how it all turned out, and the best part is I can take it with me when we move!

If you DO put it on the wall, it's way easy to take off just by peeling, or adding a little heat (with something like a blow dryer) and peeling.

Want to try this craft yourself? Trading Phrases has offered to donate this wall decal to one of my readers!! It'll come in black 24in X 11in, it's over a $39 value! And if you want to add it to a plaque, now you know how!! Want to get to know Trading Phrases better? They're @TradingPhrases on twitter and they have a Facebook Fan Page.
